TransLinc cements its reputation with London Borough of Hounslow
TransLinc, the UK’s leading local authority fleet provider, has delivered another batch of vehicles to London Borough of Hounslow’s Highways Division as part of a £1.7m vehicle replacement programme.
The Euro 5 compliant vehicles, all of which benefit from reduced road fund licence, include an Iveco Utranazz Mixer, four Iveco Thomson 7.5-tonne Tippers and two 18-tonne Iveco Thomson Tippers, all of which have been chosen in line with the authority’s fleet emissions reduction strategy.
TransLinc is supplying the vehicles on five-year contract hire – maintenance will be carried out in-house at Hounslow.
Wendy Cheesewright, Operational Support Officer at London Borough of Hounslow, said: “TransLinc won the tender to supply 38 vehicles to us, all of which had to be at least Euro 4 compliant.
“The new vehicles will replace older ones on long term hire and will help to cut our overall fleet emissions, while being more cost-effective to run.”
The tippers all feature onboard compressors, which are required to power the drills and concrete breakers used for pavement and street light maintenance duties.
Richard Albon, Contract Manager at TransLinc, said: “Not having to tow a compressor behind the vehicle is not just better for drivers, it also cuts fuel consumption, thereby reducing fuel bills and CO2 emissions. It also boosts security as the compressor is onboard the tipper, making it less visible to would-be thieves.
“We are committed to sourcing vehicles that are best suited to our customers’ needs and look forward to continuing our successful partnership with London Borough of Hounslow.”
All 38 vehicles will be delivered to London Borough of Hounslow by the end of the year.
