TransLinc proud sponsors of Green and Glorious awards.
Carol singing, picnics, Halloween fun and bulb-planting - these are a few of the favourite things carried out by Joyce Buxton of Cheadle Hulme, winner of Stockport Metropoliton Borough Council's Proud of Stockport - Green and Glorious award.
Joyce has transformed a very small band of volunteers into one of the most dynamic "Friends" groups in the borough.
Nominator Cllr Suzanne Wyatt said: "They have completely transformed a neglected little park into the small gem that Oak Meadow is today. Joyce has organised so many events and every autumn she has cajoled, entreated or bullied friends and residents to bring their families to plant bulbs and has raised huge sums of money. The result is a very visual demonstration of the energy and tenacity of this remarkable woman." Joyce was also nominated by Bramhall and Cheadle Hulme South Area Committee.
Joe Cleary from sponsors TransLinc said: "Joyce truly represents the spirit of green and glorious and we are delighted to choose her as a very worthy winner. Well done Joyce!"
