TransLinc supports the Phone ‘n’ Ride service from North East Lincolnshire Council
The UK’s leading provider of local authority fleet vehicles and passenger services, TransLinc, is assisting North East Lincolnshire Council in the latest expansion of its ‘on demand’ bus service, Phone ‘n’ Ride.
The three year contract, won by TransLinc in June 2008, covers all operational support for the service including maintenance for its three Mercedes mini-buses and the provision and training of all drivers and passenger support staff running the service. TransLinc’s specialist team work in partnership with the council’s Phone ‘n’ Ride department who manage bookings for the service through its Grimsby based call centre and online.
Phone ‘n’ Ride provides residents in the North East Lincolnshire area, who have no access to conventional public transport, an ‘on demand’ bus service, that can take them to work, college, or out for the day. It operates from 7am – 7pm Monday to Saturday and bookings can be made up to six days in advance. Such a complicated logisitical requirement needed a specialist partner to ensure reliability of the service was maintained. With over 20 years expereince dedicated delivering bespoke passenger services, TransLinc was well placed to offer such a service.

Due to our experienced team we are able to offer a tailored service that covers staffing provision and vehicle maintenance from the coucil’s Doughty Road Depot. All staff operating on the service are highly trained and knowledgeable about the local area, our expertise will ensure the service is run to the highest standard."
Lindsay Atkin, Linc Co-Ordinator for North East Lincs Council said, “The Phone ‘n’ Ride service is extremely well utilised in the area, making on average 100 journeys each day and which last month carried over 3000 passengers.”
