The UK’s leading local authority fleet service provider, TransLinc, was one of the sponsors of Stockport Council’s annual employee EXtra! awards.

TransLinc sponsors Stockport Council's 2008 Extra! AwardsPresented on 4th November 2008, the awards recognise the exceptional achievements of Council teams working in all areas of the local community and within the Council.

TransLinc has worked with Stockport Council since 1999, supplying a wide range of vehicles supporting the all areas of the Council. Most recently, the Council’s refuse collection and recycling fleet, has been increased with the delivery of three new Mercedes Econic RCVs earlier in November.

Demonstrating its commitment to the Council, TransLinc, has also sponsored its employee awards for several years. For 2008, TransLinc’s Business Development Manager, Keith Watts was also part of the judging panel for the ‘Working in Partnership’ Award, one of the five, highly contested categories.

Of the awards, and judging process, Keith said, “I received an astounding 19 submissions for the Working in Partnership award this year from all areas of the Council. Choosing the winner, Stockport Town Hall Centenary Celebrations Steering Group, was extremely challenging, however the team delivered a fantastic event, working closely with the local community and across Council directorates.”

“TransLinc will continue to work with Stockport Council and hope to support further internal communications initiatives in 2009” he added.
