TransLinc cleans up the streets of Bolton with eight brand new Sweepers
TransLinc, the UK’s leading provider of specialist fleet management services for local authorities, has supplied eight brand new Johnson CX200 Street Sweepers to Bolton Council on a three year contract hire with maintenance agreement.
The sweepers will act as a core part of the town’s Street Scene fleet, responsible for improving the environment for local residents.
Keeping the streets of Bolton clean is a key priority for the Council and with many streets lined with older terraced properties and parked cars, the council was looking for a fleet of sweepers that could meet the demands of the job. The Johnson CX200 Sweeper met all necessary requirements.
The Johnson CX200 1.8m3 capacity road sweeper offers excellent manoeuvrability around narrow streets and includes a reverse-sweeper operation to enable the clearance of debris from under obstacles, such as parked cars or benches. Its 3.0-litre diesel engine meets current CO2 and dust emission limitation legislation; the sweepers provide a productive and efficient cleaning system for the council.
Rob Hobson, Regional Sales Manager for TransLinc, said: “Providing road-sweeping equipment for highly populated urban areas is a challenge. We are regularly faced with a number of issues from manoeuvring sweepers safely around parked cars to assisting in the reduction of inner-city air pollution. Following extensive trials with a variety of sweepers currently on the market, Bolton selected the CX200 to meet its requirements.”
Councillor Elaine Sherrington, Bolton’s Executive Member for Cleaner, Greener, Safer for Bolton Council added: “Working to make Bolton cleaner and greener is one of our key aims as a local authority and the introduction of these eight new environmentally friendly sweepers with improved manoeuvrability is another step in the right direction.”
